한국사회에는 독특하게도 갑-을 문화가 있습니다. 계약서에 보면 항상 있는 갑과 을...
갑-을관계는 쉽게 이야기하자면, 돈주는 사람이 갑이고, 돈을 받고 일을 하는 사람을 을인거죠.
특히, 대기업과 중소기업간의 계약관계에서 많이 언급이 되기로 하는 문제인데, 동반성장이니 상생이니 하면서 말들은 많지만 별로 나아지는 것 같지는 않습니다.^^;;
대기업과 중소기업간의 문제를 지적하고자 하는 건 아니구요.
회사 대표는 갑인 고객사와의 관계를 좋게 유지해서 돈(?)을 벌어야 하니 종종 직원들에게는 갑의 대변인(혹은 X맨)이 되는 경우가 많습니다. 이런 상황이 되면 직원들에게 대표가 갑의 무리한 요구를 막아주는 방패가 되어야지 갑의 편을 들면 어떻게 하냐는 항의 아닌 항의(?)를 받는 경우가 생깁니다. 흑흑... 저도 그러고 싶죠...ㅜ.ㅜ;;
갑과의 관계도 좋게 유지해야하고 실무를 하는 직원들도 잘 설득해서 좋은 성과가 나도록 만들어야 하는 상황이다보니 대표입장에서는 고객사도 갑, 직원도 갑인 상황이 되는거죠.
갑이 a라는 일을 요청해서 일을 하고 있는데, 어느날 갑자기 b라는 일도 해주면 안되겠냐고 요청할때 거절하기가 쉽지 않습니다. 또는 언제까지 일을 해달라고 해놓고서는 어느날 갑자기 내부 사정이 생겼으니 일정을 앞당겨달라고 하는 경우도 빈번하게 일어납니다. 이런 상황이 발생하면 냉정하게 안된다고 이야기를 해야 하는데, 갑과의 관계를 생각해서 울며겨자먹기로 하는 경우가 생기기 마련입니다. 한창 일하느라 바쁜 직원들에게 빨리 a라는 일 마무리하고 b도 해야한다고 하면, 당연히 불만이 생길 수 밖에 없죠.
갑-을관계를 잘 유지하면서 좋은 성과가 나오도록 양쪽(고객사, 직원)을 잘 조율하는게 대표가 하는 역할 중에 중요한 부분이 아닐까 생각해봅니다.
한국 IT종사자들이 가장 사고 싶은 브랜드가 GAP이라는 농담도 있을 정도니...
갑-을 관계가 아닌 파트너 관계로서 협업을 해야하는데, 현실에선 실현되기가 어려운 문제이긴 하죠.
